The Manaslu Circuit has been very popular among experienced trekkers for many years. Recently with improved accommodation and facilities it is opening up to many new trekkers.
The Manaslu Circuit’s main attractions are the spectacular views of Mount Manaslu itself (8,163m) along with the Ganesh Himal Range. It’s a unique trek surrounded by a blend of Nepali Hindu, Tibetan and Buddhist villages all along the trail. As you start at a low altitude, at around 700 m, the landscapes vary from green countryside and lush forests to spectacular high-altitude landscapes skirting huge glaciers.
The trekking trail follows the Budhi Gandaki River from Arugath to its very source just near Larkya Pass (5,125 m). The trek then passes over the Larkya Pass, which is probably the hardest part of the trek. The rewards are plentiful though with the awesome Himalayas stretching out above you with spectacular glaciers running beside them. Our descent brings us through pristine alpine forests at Bhimtang before we enter close to the main Annapurna Circuit route towards Besisahar.
